Virgil Reynolds, age 68, found eternal peace and joy surrounded by loved ones on Friday, October 17, 2025. He was born to the late Superintendent Joe Reynolds and wife, Ludellar, on Monday, April 8, 1957 in Washington County, Georgia. Virgil resided in Toomsboro, Georgia which he was happy to call home for over 30 years.

Virgil deeply loved his church, where he faithfully served as a deacon, Sunday school superintendent, and taught Bible Study. His devotion to service and fellowship extended beyond the walls of his home church as he was steadfast in visiting other congregations and attending jurisdictional meetings, always eager to worship, learn, and support the broader faith community. His commitment to serving others also reached into the local community, where he generously volunteered at the Pruitt Nursing Home, touching lives with his kindness, encouragement, and uplifting spirit.

Virgil was a hardworking man who took great pride in using his hands to get the job done. His strong work ethic was evident throughout his years of service with the Georgia Department of Transportation, the City of Milledgeville, and Central State Hospital. For as long as he was able,he found joy in being outdoors—whether tending to his yard, casting a fishing line, grilling, or simply sitting outside to appreciate the beauty of nature. Virgil also loved singing praises to the Lord, lifting his voice throughout the day. Beyond his time at home, he enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends, exploring new places, and cheering on his favorite team, the Atlanta Falcons.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, the late Superintendent Joe and Ludellar Reynolds, and his brother, Allen Reynolds, Sr. His legacy lives on through his wife, Cheryl Moss Reynolds;eight siblings: Louise Johnson (John L), Wallace Reynolds (Gussie), Charlene Davis (Benedict), RDM Colleen Scott (Anthony), Rochelle Wiggins (Tommy), Elder Lee Arthur Reynolds, Deryl Robinson (Eddie), and Cheryl Davis (William); one great-aunt Thelma Lee May; five children through marriage to Cheryl: Mathew Gibson, Ben Gibson, Jr. (Jamila), Sabrina Green (George),Seth Gibson, and Erika Gibson; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his life-long friend, Willie Stephens.

Rest in peace, Virgil. We will miss you dearly. Though your earthly journey has ended, the memory of your spirit continues to live in our hearts.Gone from our sight, but never our hearts,Your song still lingers though we are apart. In Heaven’s choir your voice rings clear,We feel your love; we know you’re near.
