Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Reginald "Reggie" Smith will be held Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at 1:00PM. Location: Wilkinson County High School Auditorium 11481 GA-57 McIntyre, Georgia 31054. Rev. Eddie D. Smith will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at Parker Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
On Thursday, December 19, 2024, Mr. Reginald Gerard Smith was called to rest. Mr. Smith was born October 20, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the parentage of the late Dorothy Means and Caroll Smith, Sr.
Mr. Smith was educated in Baltimore, Maryland at Carver Vocational Tech High School. He was a care member of Koinonia Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland and later joined Parker Spring Baptist Church in McIntyre, Georgia where he served until, he was called to rest.
He joined the United States Army on October 20, 1966, at 17 years of age. He later attended Bay College and Coppin State University.
Reggie was a Politician at heart. He dedicated his life to political affairs and making positive changes for the people in his community. He was always willing to help anyone in time of need.
Reginald joined in holy matrimony to Janis Shinholster on December 31, 1985.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Caroll Smith, Sr. and Dorothy Means, sister, Darlene Giles and his daughter, Tinetta Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Janie Smith; children, Reginald Smith, Jr., Marcus Smith and Montell Smith, all of Irwinton, Georgia, Chandra Shinholster of Warner Robins, Georgia and Constance (Dennis) Adams of Dundalk, Maryland, brother, Caroll (Dora) Smith, Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland, Richard Means, Sr. of Dundalk, Maryland; sister, Karen Wheatley of Dundalk, Maryland, sister, Sherry Means of San Diego, California; father-in-law, James “Bud” Shinholster of Irwinton; brothers-in-laws, Kenneth (Kathy) Shinholster of Locust Grove, Georgia, Ronald Shinholster of Irwinton, Georgia; sister-in-laws, Michelle (Bobb) Hightower of Milledgeville, Georgia, Phyllis Whipple of McDonough, Georgia; dear friend Vernon (Linda) Sanders of Irwinton, Georgia, friend like a son, Gary (Mariah) Johnson; a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The highlight of his day was seeing his youngest grands, Aubree & Kash.
Public Viewing will be held Monday, December 23, 2024 from 11:00-7:00PM at the funeral home.
