Murlene Strange

Celebration of Life services for Miss Murlene Strange will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Jordan Stream Baptist Church – Toomsboro, Georgia. Pastor A. L. Gordon will officiate. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Peace came to Miss Murlene Strange (Granny) who is known by her family and friends. She was born May 28, 1928, to the late Mrs. Mary Jane Payne and the late Mr. Cleveland Strange in Wilkinson County.

Miss Murlene Strange attended school in Toomsboro, Georgia. In her adolescence years, she became a member of the Jordan Stream Baptist Church. She served faithfully up until her health failed. Also, she was the mother to a faithful daughter Miss Rose Marie Strange whom love and cherish her mother until she departed this life.

Miss Murlene Strange was the oldest of four children in which they preceded her in death. Sisters: Mrs. Lurlene Strange Carswell, Mrs. Mary V. Strange and a brother Mr. J. C. Strange, and her son Hubert S. Tremble.

For many years she provided for her family and value her working expertise on multiple jobs. Vanner San Mill in Toomsboro, Basset Furniture Co. in which she retired after 30 years of working and Thompsons Cove Restaurant of Toomsboro for 10 years. Also, she provided a helping hand with babysitting, preparing and serving hot meals in the community.

She leaves to cherish her memory to her daughter: Marie Strange, daughter-in-law Mrs. Cynthia C. Tremble, 3 nieces, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Public viewing will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, March 15, 2026, from 11:00 – 7:00PM.

Wilkinson County Memorial Chapel – Irwinton has charge of arrangements.
