Joe D. Strange, Jr.

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Joe D. Strange, Jr. will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 12:00PM at New Bethel Baptist Church Hwy 57 – Irwinton. Pastor Gregory Odum will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Mr. Joe D. Strange, Jr., was born on November 3, 1965, to the parentage of Joe D. Strange, Sr. and Alice Pearl Veal Strange.

Joe attended Wilkinson County Public School System and was a graduate of the Class of 1984. After graduation in 1984, Joe became employed with Burger King. He then moved on to Central State Hospital where he worked faithfully until he retired.

Joe started in the church at a very young age. His love for singing and music shined in many ways. As a member at New Bethel Baptist Church – Irwinton, Georgia, he attended faithfully until his health failed, be he always remained close. Joe was loved by all. If you had to describe him, he was the glue because he kept things together.

Joe was preceded by death by his father, Joe D. Strange, Sr. and his sister Loretta Renae. Joe transitioned from the earthly realm on July 21, 2026.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his mother, Alice Strange; brothers, Allen (Joanne) Strange, McLendon (Wanda) Stange and Marcus Strange; nephews, Allen, Jr., Joshua and Altwaun; nieces, Trehanna, Lyric and Terryanna, and a host of other relatives.

Public viewing will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 1:00-7:00PM at the funeral home.

Wilkinson County Memorial Chapel – Irwinton has charge of arrangements.
