Douglas Womble, Sr.

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Douglas Womble, Sr. will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 11AM. Location: New Macedonia Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Irwinton City Cemetery. Rev. James Smith will serve as eulogist.

Douglas Womble, Sr. was born August 12, 1946, to the late James Womble and Rupert Taylor. He attended public schools, to know him was to love him. Douglas was always full of life, laughter, and love amongst his peers. Douglas was a devoted family man and caregiver. He was a member of New Macedonia Baptist Church located in Irwinton, Ga.

He was preceded in death by his parents James Womble and Rupert Taylor along with his loving wife and companion Lizzie Womble and a few siblings Johnny Womble, Pericilla Ferral, Carl Taylor, Betty Knight, and Marie Nesbitt.

Douglas transitioned from his earthly home to be with the Lord on Tuesday July 21, 2026.

He leaves his cherished memories with his remaining siblings Donald Womble, Wylene Womble, Mary Ingram and Brenda Brooks, five kids Carolyn Womble (Rosevelt), Doug Womble, Kenneth Bridges (Felicia), Tony Love, and Tommy Love (Wilma), and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
