Danny Craig Burke

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Danny Craig Burke will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 12:00 Noon. Location: Gordon Church of God in Christ 118 Olive Street, Gordon. Interment will follow at Ramah Cemetery. Dr. Patrick L. Wilcher will serve as eulogist.

Danny Craig Burke was born June 2, 1963, to the late Mason Burke Sr. and Hattie Bryant Burke in Milledgeville, Ga. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Roswell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Danny attended and graduated from the Wilkinson County School System (Class of 1983). During Danny’s life, he attended several churches with Ray of Hope C.O.G.I.C being the most recent.

While residing in Wilkinson County, he worked at Kaolin Mining as a laborer. Later in life he moved to Atlanta, Georgia with his sisters. Danny then worked several jobs which included cooking, delivering, moving, and landscaping until he became ill. One of his greatest hobbies was fishing with his brothers Mason and Dexter.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Vivian Jackson and Barbara Shinholster, four brothers; Charles Burke, Kenny Burke, Willie Paul Burke, and Billy Joe Burke.

Danny leaves to cherish his memories three sisters, Earnestine Lovett, Laverne McCrory, and Beverly Burke-Smith, two brothers; Mason Burke Jr. and Dexter (Kisha) Burke, two sister-in laws; Barbara Burke and Gloria Burke; one uncle, Callie Wilcher and one aunt, Minnie Jewell Bryant and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
