Daisy Sims

Funeral Services for Mrs. Daisy D. Sims 71, of Irwinton will be held on Saturday August 22, 2015 at 3:00PM at the Wilkinson County High School Auditorium. Pastor Eddie D. Smith, Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Parker Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

On April 30, 1944, a bundle of joy was born to the late Mr. Willie Curtis Johnson and the late Mrs. Essie Mae Johnson. August 18, 2015, the book of  life closed for Mrs. Daisy Del Sims. Mrs. Sims will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She attended Wilkinson County Public Schools and at an early age she joined Parker Spring Baptist Church. y.

Daisy was preceded in death by her husband Samuel L. Sims, her mother and father Willie Curtis and Essie Mae Johnson, her sister Addie Johnson, her brother Joseph Johnson, and grandson Travis Knight. God called her and her angel of light, her sister Joan Johnson, home on August the 18th, 2015.

She leaves to cherish her memory eight children: Melinda Johnson, LaTonya Johnson-Stubbs (Gary), Cynthia Johnson-Shinholster, Julius Sims (Kimberly), Sarah Sims all of Irwinton, Georgia, Celena Shinholster (Riley) of McIntyre, Georgia, Patricia Sims of Dublin, Georgia, Kimberly Sims of Hennison, North Carolina and Ulysee Sims of Alaska; two sisters Willie Mae Shinholster (James) of Irwinton, Georgia, Annie Dee Brookins (Melvin) of Bartow, Georgia, and one brother Eddie Lee Johnson of Irwinton, Georgia; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three aunts Christine Walker of Irwinton, Georgia, Alma Walker of McIntyre, Georgia, and Ella Mae Brown of Sandersville, Georgia; one uncle C.W. Cooper (Lillie Mae) of Saginaw, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Family will recieve friends at the family residence 55 Martin Luther King Jr. Circle in Irwinton. Mrs. Sims will be placed in the Auditorium one hour prior to service hour. Wilkinson County Memorial Chapel 142 Wriley Road Irwinton has charge of arrangements.
