Funeral Services for Mrs. Arzetter S. Chatman 80, of Irwinton will be held on Thursday August 06, 2015 at 11:00AM at the Wilkinson County High School Auditorium. Pastor Randy J. Paschal will officiate. Interment will be held at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery 2617 Vinson Highway Milledgeville, GA.
On October 9, 1934, Arzetter S. Chatman was born to the parentage of the late Jesse Smith and Mercidee Payne in Irwinton, GA. She was preceded in death by her six brothers; Frank Jr, Dupree, John Benjamin (JB), Charlie, Lamar, and Charles Smith. She was also preceded in death by her sister Ruth Smith.
She attended the public schools in Wilkinson County and was a member of Calvary Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was united in holy matrimony to Robert Lee Chatman, Sr. on December 24, 1952. To this union, seven children were born, all of whom survive her.
Arzetter departed this life peacefully on August 1, 2015, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.
Her memories will always be cherished by her devoted husband, Robert Lee Chatman, Sr., Irwinton, GA; Robert Lee Chatman, Jr.(Roxanne), Farmington Hills, MI; Patricia Dukes (Walter), Albany, GA; Barbara Watkins(James), Macon, GA; Arzetter Chatman, McIntyre, GA; Richard Chatman (Ann), Gordon, GA; Lisa Whipple (Van), Irwinton, GA; Michael Chatman (Kelly), McIntyre, GA. A devoted nephew, Harold Smith (Teresa), Lithonia, GA. Fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren on the way. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends at Wilkinson County Memorial Chapel on Wednesday August 05, 2015 from 6-8pm. Mrs. Chatman will be placed in the Wilkinson County High School Auditorium one hour prior to service hour. Wilkinson County Memorial Chapel 142 Wriley Road Irwinton has charge of arrangements.
